Artist's Description

When the sun is setting in January, on a day when there is just around zero degrees, one may observe a mars red sky.

Hans Egil Saele started painting winter forest interiors in the mid 1970's, and this has been a theme he has frequently returned to. He regards winter time as visually the most abstract season of the year.
