Artist's Description

Abstract Reality is a painting on 09/11/2001. I was in my studio working, when my sister called from her office (she's a lawyer), she said: "Turn on the TV! Some crazy people are attacking New York!" I turned on the TV, and could, like so many others, hardly believe my eyes. It was an abstract reality experience. To see the same scenes over and over again, and still not believe it. I immediately started painting my perception of the terrorist attack.

A friend of mine told me later that his sister was neighbour with Mohammed Atta in Hamburg, Germany, and that they'd often spoken. She was deeply shocked that her "nice" neighbour turned out to be the leader of the Hamburg cell and responsible for the cowardly attack on the twin towers, such an atrocious crime.

A while after I was made aware of a red devil in the painting. Do you see him?
